The "tree" that sits on top of the coral is the worm's mouth parts. It filters food from the surrounding water.
Wave your hand over these 1/2 inch spirals and sfftt, like magic they disappear into their coral home.
This is absolutely beautiful ... the colors are gorgeous!

Brilliant shot - so entrancing, and so far out of the reach of most of us! BTW, your next photos are very small framed - did you change equipment?

@Sidonie: My smaller format photos were shot with slide film and scanned, and then optimized for the web. The larger photos are digital.
