Christmas tree worms, PalauPosted by Andi (Ramsey, United States) on 17 March 2007 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. The "tree" that sits on top of the coral is the worm's mouth parts. It filters food from the surrounding water. Wave your hand over these 1/2 inch spirals and sfftt, like magic they disappear into their coral home.
