The sea lily is not a plant. It floats through the water swimming from one coral perch to another. The feathery "petals" are its mouth parts that filter food from the surrounding water.

@Art Monkey: Thanks, Art. It was taken while scuba diving in the South Pacific on a trip to Palau.
I have never heard of this animal before. It's appearance is utterly fascinating. This is a great shot! The colors are beautiful.
